In the news lately is the collaboration between fashion retailer Reiss and performance sportswear brand Castore. The brands have renewed their design collaboration for a third time with the launch of a new collection and Reiss x Castore SS24 prioritises comfort and maximum performance while pushing the boundaries of hybrid lifestyle sportswear.

The hybrid lifestyle garments’ technical fabrications, bonded seams and moisture-wicking fabrications allow for all day wear. As per the official website the collection was inspired by athletes’ on-the-go lifestyle. And every fabric, finish and trim are carefully selected to aid comfort and performance – enabling the garments to transition between sports and daily urban activities. The minimalist design aesthetic paired with innovative technical solutions further assist the versatility of this SS24 collection.
‘The objective for the Reiss x Castore collection was to push the boundaries of hybrid lifestyle sportswear. To make this intention possible we addressed 3 key areas: Thermoregulation, Protection and Freedom of Movement. Firstly, to address temperature regulation, we utilised our latest technology; AeroMesh, a fabrication which enhances airflow in key sweat zones. A great example of how we further addressed thermoregulation is on the Adler Jacket – the ultra-light fabric is paired with a mesh lined vent at the back body and laser-cut perforations at the hood stand.’ Pe the website.
As a precision Sportswear brand, Castore perceives the challenges of unpredictable weather conditions during outdoor training and provides enhanced protection by adding its Protek finish to all woven fabrics, providing them with a water repellent shield. The team has also added water-repellent finishes to zip pockets.. ensuring personal belongings stay dry. To further address the wearer’s protection, the brand has introduced an iridescent reflective tab to garments providing visibility in low light settings. Finally, to address comfort and freedom of movement the team utilised bonded hems and anatomically placed seams to eliminate irritation and maximise mobility.
