Since 2023, Versace has proudly supported the Elton John AIDS Foundation, standing beside its mission to overcome the stigma, discrimination and neglect that keep us from ending AIDS. Of the 39.9 million people living with HIV, nearly a quarter are not on treatment and a life is lost to AIDS every minute. The Elton John AIDS Foundation was established in 1992 and is one of the leading independent AIDS organizations in the world. The Foundation’s mission is simple: an end to the AIDS epidemic. The Elton John AIDS Foundation is committed to overcome the stigma, discrimination and neglect that keep us from ending AIDS. With the mobilization of a network of generous supporters and partners, they fund local experts across four continents to challenge discrimination, prevent infections, and provide treatment as well as influencing governments to end AIDS.
The foundation is a leader in the global response to HIV, committed to overcoming HIV and LGBTQ+ stigma, discrimination, and neglect that prevents us from ending AIDS for everyone, everywhere. Since 1992, it has raised more than $600 million to support over 3,100 projects in 95 countries globally to increase access to health care, tackle LGBTQ+ stigma, and end AIDS. Guided by love, compassion, and humanity, the foundation believes that quality healthcare should be a right, not a privilege, yet countless people—including young people, the LGBTQ+ community, and people who use drugs—face significant barriers to accessing the care they need.
“No one should face stigma, fear, or be denied access to life-saving treatment—everyone has the right to a healthy life. From the United States to Uzbekistan to Uganda, we are connecting marginalized communities with the vital care and resources they need to live long and healthy lives,” sys Elton John. “Imagine a world where health inequity is a thing of the past. Together, we can make this a reality—and bring an end to AIDS. Your support is essential to making it happen.”
The foundation’s Rocket Fund is the Foundation’s initiative redoubling work across the globe, targeting those most at risk of HIV/AIDS: young people, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people who use drugs. Per the official website, ‘As a leader in the global AIDS community, we’re committed to overcoming the stigma, discrimination and neglect that keeps us from ending AIDS. We create partnerships and offer funding for programmes around the world, carefully monitoring and evaluating the impact of all projects with our grantees.’
This fund focuses on addressing the health inequity, stigma, and discrimination that enable HIV/AIDS to continue to flourish. By supporting groundbreaking programs and partners working directly with communities and governments, The Rocket Fund enhances access to health resources like testing and medicine; fights discriminatory and dangerous laws; and empowers those most at risk to take control of their health through prevention and information.
