L’Oréal Paris has named Emily in Paris actress Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as its new ambassador in France. The actress-producer will appear in a campaign for Age Perfect Collagen Expert starting June 9. 

The announcement was made on L’Oréal Paris’ Instagram page with the message: “The perfect age is now! Liberty to be herself, beauty that empowers – we are thrilled to welcome Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu to the #LOrealParisFamily!”

Best known for her portrayal of character Sylvie Grateau in Netflix’s hit television show Emily in Paris, French actress Leroy-Beaulieu is popular for her sophisticated style and unapologetic presence, both on-screen and in real life. L’Oréal Paris described her as “a model of perseverance and daring,” adding that she “encourages living each stage of life with strength, showing that the perfect age is today.”

The 61-year-old actress is recognised for redefining the essence of femininity and beauty at a certain age, having built a late-career resurgence with standout roles in Call My Agent! and Emily in Paris. She embodies French chic, and is known to all generations in France and abroad. Per Loreal Paris: “Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu is a model of perseverance and daring, who encourages living each stage of life with strength, showing that the perfect age is today,”

In a statement, Marie-Julie Monnot, General Manager of L’Oréal Paris France, said: “She brings a unique vision of a flourishing and uninhibited beauty that resonates deeply with the brand’s mission to give every woman the means to believe in her personal values and take the place she deserves in society. Who is Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu?

Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, born on April 25, 1963, in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, is a distinguished French actress recognised for her extensive work in European cinema and television. She is the daughter of actor Philippe Leroy and model Françoise Laurent. After spending her early years in Italy, she moved to Paris at 16 to pursue drama. 

Her film debut came in 1983 with “Surprise Party,” and she earned a César Award nomination for Most Promising Actress in 1985 for her role in “Three Men and a Cradle”. In recent years, Leroy-Beaulieu has achieved international acclaim for her portrayal of Sylvie Grateau in the Netflix series “Emily in Paris”. Her character, a sophisticated marketing executive, appealed to audiences worldwide. Beyond acting, she has become a fashion icon, admired for her elegant style.

Next up, Leroy-Beaulieu will play a lead character in Carlos Saldanha’s Brazilian film “I00 Days,” which narrates the true story of Amyr Klink, an explorer who became the first man to row across the South Atlantic in 1984.
