Launched in 2008, Beaumont Organic is a premium, sustainable fashion brand. Featuring GOTS certified organic cotton, alongside other sustainable and eco-fabrics such as linen, lyocell, tencel and non-mulesed wool. Sustainably produced and ethically made in Europe the collection includes womenswear, baby wear, homeware and accessories.
Beaumont Organic was founded by Hannah Beaumont Laurencia in 2008 with a mission to pioneer organic and ethical clothing. Since launching with just eight organic cotton undyed t-shirts the ethical fashion brand has developed into an international womenswear label that combines unique silhouettes with organic, fair trade and eco-fabrics. All created ethically from design to delivery.
Hannah’s work ethic has become the brand’s pillars and these include- Live what you believe in, realise your dreams and achieve them- Take action, be confident, persist and never give up- Travel and be inspired by other cultures- Be creatively honest and clear about your values- Be experimental and try new things- Extend respect, trust, loyalty, integrity and gratitude to all.
Beaumont Organic uses organic cotton and traces it since the moment cotton is planted, and throughout the production process. All its cotton is GOTS certified, therefore it is possible to know where it was grown and knitted, and its ensured that no pesticides, chemicals or GMO seeds are used in the production. Crops are rotated to maintain a healthy soil and reduce water consumption.
The company only uses wool from the EU where there are very strict laws on farming. All EU wool is harvested according to non-mulesing practices in line with animal rights recommendations. The company visits their factories regularly, sometimes unannounced, and where possible they have moved to recycled yarns in an effort to re-use rather than produce more.
All factories contain huge amounts of unused fabric rolls which are left around in warehouses. These fabrics are often produced using environmentally damaging methods, but then the product is wasted. Beaumont Organic tries to use these fabrics in an effort to reduce the waste material going to landfill. They believe that using ‘end of rolls’ is just as important as using organic and sustainable fabrics. This also results in a more unique garment as ‘end of roll’ styles are typically very limited in number.
The brand works with factories in the EU which pay fair wages and provide good working conditions for their staff and pay fair prices for products based on the average salaries in the country and the quality of the manufacturing. the core team also gives large lead times for production to ensure the factory workers can manager orders within their working day and do not need to work longer hours.
The company’s vision is to be seen as a pioneering design-driven, well-respected, established, international organic and ethical brand. A brand people are proud to be wearing and be associated with, producing clothing that people respect and care for, encapsulating an emotional bond with our customers and creating a loyal following around the world. the core team is inspired by making changes and paving the way for fashion to have a more sustainable future. And they do this by asking questions about their process, producing ethically, reducing wastage where they can and constantly finding ways to be more transparent.
To design and create ‘Contemporary Conscious Clothing responsibly using luxury fabrics for the modern woman.
