Guerlain has announced the appointment of artist, director, and actress Charlotte Le Bon as Bee Ambassador, a bespoke role dedicated to supporting the House’s commitment to bee preservation, which began in 2010. She will play an active role in Guerlain’s dedicated initiatives through immersive experiences, artistic events, and inspiring talks, reflecting shared values.
At Guerlain, the team believes in combining artistic excellence with environmental responsibility. Since 2010, they’ve led a global effort to protect the bee, their symbol for almost two centuries and the guardian of our planet’s future. The luxury brand recently announced the appointment of artist, director and actress Charlotte Le Bon as Guerlain Bee Ambassador, a bespoke role at the forefront of their commitment.
After growing up in the Laurentides region of Canada, a region popular for its breathtaking natural beauty, Charlotte returned there in 2020, where she finds nourishment and inspiration in her relationship with nature. As Bee Ambassador, Charlotte will join the brand in their efforts to protect bees worldwide, reflecting the values she shares with the Maison.
“Nature is both my refuge and my muse. I’m extremely proud to become Guerlain Bee Ambassador and connect with a wider audience about bees, which have an absolutely vital place in our ecosystems,” says Charlotte Le Bon.
About Guerlain
Since 1828, the history of the House of Guerlain has been distinguished by iconic products that remain references in contemporary beauty to this day. It all began with Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain. A perfumer, chemist, inventor and researcher, the House’s founder opened his first boutique in the heart of Paris, at 42, rue de Rivoli. The House’s reputation at the courts of Europe peaked when in 1853; for the marriage of Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie, Pierre-François-Pascal created his Eau de Cologne Impériale, which he gave to the young bride as a wedding present.
Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain dedicated the Eau de Cologne Impériale to Empress Eugenie, earning him the title “Official Perfumer to His Majesty”. He entrusted the Pochet du Courval glassworks with the manufacture of a bottle adorned with the Empire’s bees, painted in fine gold, and a festoon motif, inspired by the Vendôme column. The Bee Bottle was born.
Since then, five successive generations of Guerlain perfumers have held the House’s creative reins. Today, Thierry Wasser is the heir to an olfactory legacy of 1100+ fragrances and the intrepid leader of future projects, exploring the world in search of the most exclusive raw materials. Till date, the luxury brand is recognised for combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, making it a pioneer in the beauty industry.
One of Guerlain’s most iconic products is Shalimar, introduced in 1925. Inspired by the legendary love story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, Shalimar is famous for its oriental fragrance, combining notes of bergamot, iris, and vanilla. It became one of the best-selling perfumes globally and is recognised for its rich, sensual character. Its bottle, a technical master stroke designed by Raymond Guerlain, is the first fragrance bottle with a foot and represents a typical Mughal garden basin.
In skincare, Guerlain’s Orchidée Impériale range stands out as a flagship anti-ageing line. Launched in the early 2000s, it is based on extensive research into the regenerative properties of orchids. The products focus on improving skin firmness, hydration, and reducing visible signs of ageing. Orchidée Impériale reflects Guerlain’s commitment to combining botanical expertise with scientific innovation to deliver effective luxury skincare.
The Guerlain Beauty Institute opened on the first floor of 68, Avenue des Champs-Élysées in 1939. Among the first in the world, it conceived of skincare in an avant-garde way and pioneered the ultimate science of wellness: a pleasure for the senses, combined with sophisticated technique and an art of gesture for maximum effectiveness over time.
